Went to Studio B in Greenpoint. My boy Rok One was spinning. Diplo was headlining and some Brazilian kids performed with a lot of energy. Though their music was not so good, their English had no accent. Diplo was dropping an assortment of recent hip hop and the crowd was pretty responsive. Apparently people still like to huddle together and get crazy. Maybe that's comforting.
Rosie, of the Kyoto Kids, housed and took care of us when we were in Kyoto, Japan. Now she was here with some of the Kyoto Kids to sell antiques from the Far East to rich Americans. They have great taste (not the rich Americans). We had them over for dinner, drinks, and good old fashioned fun to return their kindness. As usual I couldn't sustain the energy to interpret Japanese all night, and eventually fell asleep. I wasn't the only one. Until next time Kyoto Kids...
My trip to Japan and Thailand included all too many pictures and too much movement to make blog posts. Please refer to this link to see what the trip was like: F.F.B. (Be patient for audio to drop)
My editing of photos is always super rushed. I've probably taken around 2000 digital stills so far. I didn't have my laptop with me this weekend. So here is a random blast of photos from the weekend. We spent the weekend in Tokyo visiting friends, heading to the suburbs for a party, and checking out Shibuya and Harajuku on Sunday. The weather was great. We've been super tired from packing in lots of activity.
We took a trip to some of the older parts of Tokyo with Mama-san. We visited the fish market and surrounding areas. I was still interested in taking pictures of the people mostly.
